Purpose and idea of the association
The association was founded in 2013 and was born out of the idea to move through the different epochs of Swiss army history.
This can range from the 2nd World War to the 61st Army Order, Army 95 to the current Army XXI.
Each epoch of the Swiss army has its own charm. True to our motto: “At home in many epochs”.
Association activities
Experience and mediate
This is clearly our main activity. The association participates several times a year in various events such as army vehicle meetings and exhibitions.
Our goal is to bring visitors closer to the past history of the Swiss Army.
We do not reenact, but rather see ourselves as a living exhibition.
For example with the presentation of vehicles and material or demonstrations of the equipment in the field.
Preservation and documentation
The association has set itself the goal of preserving the material of the Swiss army for posterity. This includes the restoration of vehicles and material as well as the documentation of the history of the army.
Inspection and maintenance of camaraderie
Several times a year the association visits various objects of military historical interest. These include visits to fortresses, bunkers, museums and other collections.
The Association of Swiss Army Friends maintains various contacts to other associations and organisations in order to exchange knowledge and cultivate relationships.
Important: The association distances itself from all National Socialist and right-wing radical ideas! However, Swiss patriotism and patriotism (love of Switzerland) are welcome!
