CHAF at the 2nd Aargauer Bunkertage

...at home in many epochs...

Due to the great success of the 1st Aargauer Bunkertage in 2012 on the Bözberg of the Verein Militär- und Festungsmuseum Full-Reuenthal (VMFM) and a great demand for another event, the 2nd Aargauer Bunkertage was held on the weekend of 14th and 15th September 2019. This time around the Villigerfeld.

As we as the CHAF club cultivate a very close friendship to the VMFM, we “took over” the bunker Villiger Buck together with the two bunker supervisors Adrian and Martin. Of course we all presented this bunker in original uniforms of Ordonnanz 26, 26/40.

Additionally we showed on one of the bunker roofs in a fuel tent the carrier pigeons of the Swiss Army at the time of the Truppenordnung 61. This, also very special, with 48 live carrier pigeons, which allowed the visitors, especially the children, to fly. As always, the carrier pigeon exhibition was professionally organised and supervised by our FHD Linda, which was only recently promoted to function level 4 (field female).

Not only for the VMFM but also for CHAF it was a great success with many good and interesting conversations and experiences. This comforted us again and again over the not exactly cool uniform or distracted us.

Villiger Buck team from VMFM: Martin, Adrian and Lukas. From CHAF: Thomas, Patrick, Linda with Itchy and Daniel.

A big thank you to all involved and of course to the CHAF team!
