On 13.10.2019 our FHD’s met for their year-end event with the name “Enzian”. After last year’s bivouac exercise Edelweiss the FHD’s moved a little more this year than last. The aim of this exercise was to learn how to orientate oneself in the dark using maps in paper format and to fight fatigue with many marching songs.
The meeting point on Saturday evening was Zurich Main Station. After a short discussion the train was moved to Zurich Rehalp. From there the two brave women walked to the soldier monument in Forch, ZH and after a prayer and a short break for refreshments they continued over the Pfannenstiel to Uetikon at Lake ZH. In these 6 hours or 20 km and some nocturnal animal encounters the goal of the exercise was reached. Our FHD’s Linda and Ramona can now also “find their way” at night.
